Why do you masturbate?
Answer: why... do you (don't you) masturbate?
After posting this question, I discovered that May is Masturbation Month!

It's simple, I masterbate because I am sexually excited and a lover is not always readily available. You can masterbate whenever and however you want, the only thing you have to worry about is you. Also it can relax me a lot, especially before bed after a stressful day.
I can't be bothered getting my partner as excited as me. I don't want to take the time making a "wonderful experience" I just want to get the job done ! :)

because I'm a sexual being, even though I'm a virgin. it's a great stress-buster, as well as a way to deal with sexual arousal without actually having sex (seeing as how I don't want one night stands or to end up pregnant or all sorts of other complications, it seems the best option).

Because it's fun! I was (gratefully) not raised to feel guilty or weird about my own sexuality, so it has never been a particularly shameful or embarrasing topic for me. I see that a few people have posted that they do it instead of having sex with someone else... I dont really see it that way. I mean yes, when you are single that is definitely one time that masturbation comes in handy (er... sorry, no pun intended) but I still do it even when I am in a sexual relationship with someone else. Less often possibly, but I see them as different and complimentary aspects of my sexuality rather than as being exclusively either/or (not that I think others were necessariyly saying it was an either/or situation for them, just thought I would voice that idea more clearly).
I don't really have anybody to relieve my sexual tensions with, so that certainly increase the amount I masturbate, but that's not really why. I guess I do it for a few reasons. The first is, like I said, to relieve sexual tensions. When I feel excited by someone, I want to continue the experience, because it feels good. And since continuing the experience with every person who turns me on isn't really gonna happen, I continue it by myself. As well, I guess I do it from habit. I would have a lot of trouble going to sleep without masturbating beforehand. I'm sure I could break that habit, and I must admit, sometimes I feel like it's more routine than the fact that I Really want to. And I guess maybe I lied a little before, although I do think of masturbation and sex as different things that fill different needs. But I guess I do masturbate to replace sex, as I have none in my life right now. But despite all of these things, I do think of masturbation in a positive light, it feels good, and it allows me to keep in touch with my body.

at first i did it because i thought i had to (it was not until i was older that i realized it was OK to do it)
i thought i had to because i was supposed to "know my body"
now i do it because i like it!

because sometime release is necessary. Random partners are unacceptable so taking things into my own hands only makes sense.
